The VCAcademy sees the "IT consolidation" as THE HOT TOPIC of the year 2009! For this reason we have already started a "consolidation initiative" by the end of last year, which will last over the complete year 2009.

Within this initiative workshops to the topic " IT consolidation in times of the economic recession” take place regularly. Till now more than 30 of these half-day events have taken place with certified business partners in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

In these workshops we deal with the analysis and the actual state of the complex Data Centre and look for strategies how to convert a consolidation. We also examine how far different strategies have an effect on OPEX and CAPEX and how savings can be obtained quickly and efficiently.

The following questions are answered with in our workshop:

• Is an IT consolidation project really so expensive and can the risk of the failure be avoided?
• Can I prejudge the success of the project before the beginning of the consolidation and convert Quick Wins just the same as long-term savings?
• Is the virtualization suitable to reduce OPEX and CAPEX costs? And which technology shall I back on?
